Colby made little Pilgrim's hats on Wednesday in honor of Thanksgiving. He organized them in the number "13" and we took them over to Justin's to celebrate his 13th birthday with cake and pizza at Auntie Jill's house.
My little man LOVES to help cook, he always wants to help in the kitchen. Here he is making deviled eggs with me to bring to Jill's on Thanksgiving. He helped with a peanut butter/oreo dessert, the eggs and the green bean casserole.
We fried up two turkeys in Jill's back yard. The weather was awesome.
Great friends. Yes, Lydia, you made the blog :)
Mike and Amy joined us for the holiday. Old friends from Korea (Mike was in our wedding). Mike is a 1st Shirt for the Army right now and they make him work his booty off! We were glad that he and Amy got to join us for dinner.
Today we went about an hour down the road to Heidelburg to go to our first Christmas Market of the season. I loved this one because you walked through the walkplatz and could window shop and then come across part of the market, then more shops, etc. Weather was much warmer than usual. The kids got a kick out of seeing these chestnuts before they were roasted. Those fuzzy things were very prickly, ouch!
Several fair-type rides that the two little kids loved.
When Laney rode around she would call out to someone new each time, just like a little Miss. America. Hi Mama, Hello Papa, Hi Sissy!!
Colby's face when I told him no, that he was not getting a bag of hard candy. I don't care how much loot you've got in your spider man wallet!
The real reason to go to the markets is to eat! We tried pommes with mayo and ketchup and delicious flammkucken and Nutella crepes. Yum!
Heidelberg Castle above our heads.
Laney, chowing down on her hollow St. Nicholas. There was a skating rink behind us but nobody was game for that challenge....I even offered up my skills but everyone just rolled their eyes!
No, we did not take Sieben with us! Like we don't have enough STRESS!! However, the kids were thrilled to see a replica of her in the store. She IS famous.
Nothing like getting a set of princess panties from H&M to top off your day! Big sissy also got some goodies.
Final food shot....garlic mushrooms!
