Colby and I went to the zoo today with Michelle (and her girls Mia and Melina) and Jean (and her boys Josh and Samuel). Laney stayed home with Birgit, I should feel guilty but, man, I am tired! It was a good bonding day with my boy, he was very good and love seeing the "manimals" (that is Colby for ANIMALS). It was so nice to spend the day with my girlfriends, we have been buds since before all the kiddos and it has been wonderful to have these two ladies to share my joys and frustrations with, I am blessed to have them in my life. These pictures are posted in backwards order, but you can see we ended our day at the zoo the right way, with ice cream! Josh could not have been more content!
Mia, Josh and Colby. You will see that in the morning we were bundled up because it was chilly but then it warmed up to around 66 degrees, perfect August day (at least in my book.)
Playing in the elephant house.
Melina with the big kids.
Josh playing possum.
The kids saw a stray cat and were chasing it until we called them back to the "real" zoo animals.
You try to get these three to look at the camera at the same time! I love that Josh grabs Colby's hand whenever they take pictures, we will use that for blackmail when they are older :)
Loved the giraffes.
Colby's response when he saw the giraffes, so funny.
Checking out the zebras, I love Mia in this shot.
Mia is so brave! One of the horses started to nibble on her leg and she thought it was a hoot. When we first got to the zoo Colby insisted on staying in his stroller, he can get that way around animals but by the end he was running along with Mia and Josh.
One of our first stops was the petting pig pen. These pictures are in backwards order so this is the final picture where Colby FINALLY got in the area with us (and the pigs).
Love Mia's joy.
Even little old Melina was in the mix.
Colby watched us as we were in with the pigs for a while, he joined us several mintues later.

My sweet boy. He is talking so much these days. Matt and I timed it once and, literally, one minute does not go by without Colby saying something. His new favorite things to say are, "Me no want to!!" and "WHY?" We are hearing "no" a little less, which is nice. However, he can't wait to teach his girl Bella those new phrases :)
Why didn't Matt invent this? This toy blows the ball up in to the air and then Colby swings at it. Recent conversation with Colby:
Colby - "Where's Papa?"
Me - "At work."
Colby - "Why?"
Me - "To make money."
Colby - "Why?"
Me - "To buy you clothes."
Colby - "Why?"
Me - "To buy you food."
Colby - "Why?"
Me - "To buy you TOYS."
Colby - thinks for a minute and I literally see the light come on as he says, "Oh!!!"
No more questions about work after that!

We have that golf toy. A gift from a friend. It's awesome b/c the balls are harmless! What I can't get over in your pics is that the kids are wearing long-sleeves! Obviously not Korean weather!
