Finally in Kansas!

I have no pictures to post on this entry but I have a lot to complain about so I wanted to share the story. We (my mom, Colby, Laney and I) left for Kansas on Monday. We were supposed to fly out at 1:10 on Monday, were delayed about an hour, once on the plane we were told that the airport had just closed due to lightening and that we would have to wait about an hour on the plane, the airport opened back up and we were on our way to Atlanta.

Once we were in the air above Atlanta we were told that we would have to circle for a while since Atlanta's airport was now closed. After about 30 minutes were we told we were being diverted to Alabama. Once at Birmingham, we were told that we were going to have to wait on the plane a while because Airtran did not have any service at the that airport...so, the finally let us off the plane and we were told to wait there because the pilots and flight attendants on the plane had reached their time limit as far as working hours. So, we got there around 5:00 and Airtran sent in pilots but not flight attendants...so at 1:30 in the morning the new flight attendants were flow in, we were flown back to Atlanta, arriving at 2:00 in the morning. We got to a hotel at 3:00 am, woke up at 7:00 to catch our next flight at 11:00. That flight was delayed an hour, once on the plane and on the run way the pilot announced that there was something wrong with the plane, so we were taken off the plane, had to wait about another hour and then were placed on another plane.

So, we arrived in Kansas about 24 hours after we were supposed to arrive. Thank God my mom was there to help with the kids, Colby was a busy bee up until about 1:30AM. It was not much fun but we did get free round trip tickets anywhere Airtran goes!

That's horrible! I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been. Frankly, I'm impressed the airline gave you anything instead of just trying to blame it all on the weather. I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out!
