Valentine's Day Trip

This is my favorite picture from our trip, totally out of order! Papa push ups.

Matt and I started a Valentine's Day tradition last year. We have decided that we will take turns planning a surprise trip for each other to take over Valentine's Day weekend. Last year, Matt suprised me with a trip to Berlin. This year I did not think we would do anything since the baby was so young but my honey planned a surprise trip to Paris anyways! Birgit watched the kids and we took the ICE (fast train) to Paris, it only takes two and a half hours. It has been several years since we went there with the girls in the summer time and it was nice to get away. My honey looks hot in this picture :)
Finding a place to use the bathroom in Paris is hard work, Matt had to resort to the Metro bathroom...yuck. And, yes, it was cold!!
Notre Dame Arc de Triomphe, right before we got very lost, I won't tell you whose fault it was but let's just say that I am looking for another partner for my Amazing Race application. We walked all over the place. Matt booked us on a dinner cruise, it was very fancy. The boat was all glass and we road down the Seine river where we could see all the sights. There were singers, violinists and other musicians on the boat. Dinner was a seven course meal with scallops, duck, sea bass, champagne, etc. Below is the ship we were on for the dinner. My baby is so cute, we got him this tie in Paris. The not-so-cute thing is the duck pate on his plate, I guess I am a red-neck but it was not my cup of tea! You can see in the picture above that I did try it but not very much of it.The boat stopped for the evening at the Eiffel tower, we caught a cab home right near it. It was very pretty lit up for the night. We also went up it the next day, we got our tickets online and walked straight in, this saved us waiting in line about 3+ hours (which we would not have done!) View from the tower.
These cats sitting on a dog were too sweet, of course we gave this guy some money. We shopped around but I did not shop here! We had a couple of hours to kill before we got on the train home last night so we went to a local bar/coffee shop that had wi-fi and took a seat for about two hours. I immediately knew it was a gay bar but it took Matt a while to catch on. No big deal, it was just funny that we stumbled in with no idea. Apparently, these upside down gnomes should have given us a hint, it was the staff's deep v-neck uniforms with overalls that gave it away for me :)
Our seat numbers on the way home got messed up so we were put in first class, sweet. We got boxes from Granny B. and Mimi and Pops today for Valentine's Day, the kids loved everything!! Below, goodies from the Beck's.
Opening the box from Granny B.

Loving all their loot!
This was actually for Tiffy but Colby loved it and though I knew it would eventually turn out bad, I did let him enjoy it until it smacked him in the face, poor Big Guy!

I laughed out loud at your Amazing Race comment! Plus, was it a gay bar or just French...don't all Frenchmen dress in deep v-neck t-shirts??
