Weihnachtsmarkt Mannheim

Well, the morning started off warm and toasty in the house....a regular Saturday breakfast of cinnamon rolls and some fruit, then we decided to go to a Christmas Market about 45 minutes away from here. Well, it must have been the coldest day of the year! One of our German friends told us this morning that this would be the coldest Christmas in 15 years, I should have taken his warning seriously. As I type this the temperature is 3 degrees. The market was nice but we were so cold. We all had long johns on, hats, layers, coats, scarfs, etc. but it was unbelievable. Colby had it made in his little carrier, he was carted around in a what is like a sleeping bag but the rest of us could hardly bear it! It's funny because the people in the background don't look cold at all! Maybe it was all the Gluhwein they were drinking (hot water with spices, red wine and sugar added).
