Switzerland for the Memorial Day Weekend

Matt and I took Friday off and headed down to Interlaken, Switzerland for the weekend with our Big Guy. The weather was warm, it was a nice, relaxing time. We love Switzerland, our only complaint is the cost of everything there! If you can get used to the idea that you just double the price of everything while there then you are fine. We had McDonald's one day for lunch, two value meals and one kiddie meal and it was roughly $31! Matt went paragliding on Saturday. He jumped from the town of Murren (5,361 ft) and landed in the town called Stechelberg (3,025 ft), he had a lot of fun. Here he is with the guide right before they jumped.

They made it! The guide had a camera on him, obviously!
Little Man, hamming it up in the hotel room before bed time. This is what he does sometimes when you tell him to say cheese.
Sometimes he smiles like his Mama wants him to!
I think we had ice cream every day, here is a spoiled local Swiss boy that we saw that suckered his Papa in to buying him his own cone....boy those Swiss! ha ha.
Yes, we had to trap him in or else he would go on the balcony and throw things over on to the diners have dinner below. He loved watching the lake, the boats, the ducks, etc.
Having dinner outside by the lake at a restaurant not far from our hotel, Colby enjoyed watching the birds.
Sitting patiently, for a second or two, waiting for Papa to jump off the cliffs above.
On Saturday we went to visit Jean, Kevin and Josh as they were at an awesome campground in Lauterbrunnen, about 20 minutes from us. We stayed here two years back with the girls and plan to come back next year.
Our hotel is right in the center.
Jean and the boys. There were beautiful snow capped mountains to the right but I did not get them to show up in the photo. We had a nice picnic lunch with the Nichols!
The boys were looking for ducks.
On Friday we went to a place called Ballenberg. It is a huge walking museum with century old buildings, farm animals, historical gardens, fields, demonstrations of typical crafts and things of days gone by. It was an nice place, absolutely HUGE. Matt and I knew we were out of shape, but this place nearly killed us!! Especially because the paths were not paved and we had our not-so-roughing-it stoller with us.
So, about 1/2 way through the day we decided to ride the horse and carriage....best decision of the day! Whew!
Big Guy loves horses these days so he thought it was a real treat.
Just a couple of the houses and buildings we saw, it was neat to be able to go in and see what the houses were like back then.
Papa getting some water.
